This form shows some of the detail which goes into our calculations, but which is not normally shown on a print-out:

A. All the lateral lines on our irrigation systems are sized using a proprietary system to insure the operating pressure is within the 20% industry standard from one end of the lateral line to the other. The methodology we use is simplified from one used for sizing lateral lines on golf course systems.

B. At Water Right Design, we do not rely on estimating percentages for the friction loss caused by the fittings in lateral lines. Estimated percentages are wildly inaccurate! Our TOTAL LATERAL LINE LOSS includes the equivalent feet of loss through a side-outlet tee for the size and type of pipe for each branch of the lateral line listed on lines 3 through 33 of the form.

C. Our friction loss calculation software incorporates an integral LOOPED MAIN LINE CALCULATOR for ease of design and accurate calculation for larger systems with looped main lines, such as parks, schools, and sports fields.

D. At Water Right Design, we do not rely on estimating percentages for the friction loss caused by the fittings in main lines. Estimated percentages are wildly inaccurate! Our MAIN LINE FITTINGS CALCULATOR allows us to count the actual number of fittings along the main line by size and type and convert to the equivalent feet of loss. We do this for all our irrigation systems, even small residential systems, to insure the accuracy of our calculations.
